The Bump Chart

A one-page bump chart for seeing how rankings change across ordered rounds. Each contender gets a line that moves through rank lanes, with rank 1 fixed at the top and lower positions beneath it. The crossings are the useful part: they show overtakes, sudden drops, stubborn leaders, and quiet climbers without pretending the gaps between ranks are measured values. Use it for quarterly priorities, product ideas, book candidates, sales regions, habits, risks, search terms, workout metrics, or any set of things competing for position over time. Unlike a slopegraph, it is not a two-column before-and-after value comparison; it is a multi-round race for rank. Type the round names once, then list each contender with its rank in each round. Leave it blank to print rank lanes and draw the race by hand.
