Plain-English Policy

Privacy Policy

Your attention and your data belong to you.

This policy explains what we collect, why, and what we do not do with it.

HourLife is built on a simple premise: your attention and your data belong to you. We've written this in plain language because legal boilerplate is a form of hiding.

01

This website

HourLife.com does not use tracking cookies, third-party analytics, or advertising scripts. We do not build profiles of visitors. We do not sell data to anyone.

Vote counts on book insight cards are stored locally in your browser session. They are not tied to any account or identity. Closing your browser resets them.

02

The iOS app

The HourLife app is designed privacy-first from the ground up. Your journal entries, goals, habits, and life data live on your device. We do not have access to them. We do not want access to them.

Any sync features, if offered, will use end-to-end encryption, meaning data is encrypted on your device before it ever leaves. We cannot read it.

03

What we do not do

  • Sell your data to advertisers or data brokers
  • Use your data to train AI models
  • Build advertising profiles from your usage
  • Share your information with third parties without explicit consent
  • Use dark patterns to obscure what we're doing

04

Infrastructure

This website is hosted on servers that may log standard HTTP request data, such as IP address, timestamp, path, and browser, for security and debugging. These logs are not used for analytics, are retained for a limited time, and are not shared.

If we make meaningful changes to this policy, we will update the date at the top and note what changed. We will not bury important changes in legal language.
