The Spectrum
A one-page self-assessment drawn as a stack of two-pole sliders. A lot of the truth about where you are doesn't sit at yes or no, always or never, this or that — it lives somewhere on the line between two extremes. This sheet makes that line visible. Each row is a spectrum running between two opposing ends — drained to energised, reactive to in control, isolated to connected — with a gradient track, tick marks, and a dial you slide to where you honestly sit. You name what you're reading (a mood, a moment, a relationship, a stretch of work), write the two poles for each of up to seven rows, then mark your spot on each. Two things make it useful. Forcing a single mark on a continuum is more honest than a yes/no box — it admits the in-between, and the exact position often surprises you. And reading several spectrums together turns a vague sense of "off" or "good lately" into a specific, glanceable picture of which dials are low and which are high, so you know where to put your attention. Use it for a weekly self-check, a mood or energy read, a values or personality reflection, a relationship or team temperature check, or before-and-after on a change you're making. Print it blank to name the poles and mark by hand.
- Best for
- Reading where you honestly sit between opposing extremes across several dimensions at once — a mood, a moment, or a stretch of work — instead of forcing a yes/no answer.
