Stakeholder Map

A one-page power/interest grid — the classic Mendelow matrix used to decide who to manage, and how hard. Name the initiative, list everyone with a stake, and score each person on two axes: how much power they hold over the outcome and how much interest they take in it, 1–10. Each name plots as a numbered dot on a square grid, landing in one of four quadrants that come with a ready-made strategy — Manage Closely (high power, high interest), Keep Satisfied (high power, low interest), Keep Informed (low power, high interest), or Monitor (low power, low interest). A numbered legend down the side maps every dot back to a name and its strategy. The point is to spend your attention where it moves the needle — and to spot the quiet, powerful people who can blindside a project if you leave them uninformed. Print it blank to place everyone on a wall by hand.

Deciding who on a project actually needs your attention — and catching the powerful-but-quiet people before they derail it.

Build your stakeholder map

Step 01

What are you mapping around?

Step 02

List the people, then score them.

Up to ten stakeholders. Keep the order consistent — stakeholder line 1 pairs with scores line 1.

Two numbers per line: power first, interest second. 6+ counts as high. Leave a line blank to list someone without plotting them.

List the people who can sway this, then score each one's power and interest 1–10 — or print it blank to plot them live.
