The Trend Chart
A one-page line chart that plots a single number across an ordered set of readings and joins them into a trend line, so a column of figures — your weight each Monday, the savings balance each month, a mood or energy score each week, weekly sales — turns into a shape you can read left to right. A table tells you where you are; the line tells you where you're heading, and whether the last dip was a blip or the start of a slide. The axis fits itself to your data rather than forcing a zero baseline, so a weight that only ever wanders between 182 and 198 still fills the frame and shows every wobble instead of flatlining in a corner. An optional target draws a dashed line to aim for, the low and high points and the first and last readings are called out, and the header states how far the number travelled from start to finish. A soft fill under the line makes the overall drift easy to see even from across the room. Use it for a weigh-in log, a savings or debt-payoff curve, a run of test scores, a mood tracker, a habit streak count, a page-count or word-count climb, blood pressure or resting heart rate, or any single figure you take again and again and want to watch move. List the readings in order and the line, dots, labels and fill draw themselves; leave them blank to print an empty grid and plot the points by hand on the wall.
