A boundary makes responsibility easier to see.
Imagine a colleague asking you to take over their unfinished work. You can decide what time to offer; they still have a decision to make about the rest. The property-line image helps you notice when those decisions have become tangled.
Notice the yes you keep resenting.

When a friend declines an invitation, notice the urge to persuade them. You can feel disappointed and accept their answer. Give the other person the room you hope they will give you.
