What the waxflower means

Waxflower is native to Western Australia, where it is known as Geraldton wax, and it belongs to the same family as eucalyptus and myrtle. It has no place in the Victorian flower dictionaries, so its meanings are modern ones: florists often describe it as a symbol of lasting love and patience, drawing on its long vase life and small, sturdy blooms. Its needle-like leaves release a lemony, slightly resinous scent when crushed. It is widely used as a filler in wedding work, where it adds texture without competing with the focal flowers.
