The Rehearsal Room Call Sheet

A call sheet for the conversation you have already had several times, alone, in the car or at 3am — the resignation, the boundary, the money, the thing you should have said a year ago. You can't rehearse their half, but you can stop being surprised by it, and that is what this page is for. A stage plan across the top fixes the practical facts that decide half of how it goes: who, where, when, and how long you'll give it. Below that sits the sentence you open with, printed once and alone, because that is the line you'll fumble. Then the script itself, laid out facing: what they might say down the left, what you'd want to have said back down the right. Mark the replies you're actually afraid of and the sheet counts only those — a readiness figure showing how many of the lines you dread already have an answer beside them, because answering the easy ones is what everyone does anyway. A short strip near the foot holds the sentences you've decided in advance not to use, printed struck through, and the closing box holds the line that ends it whichever way it goes. Rows you leave blank print ruled, to fill in as the conversation gets clearer.
