Watch your habits grow
A habit tracker drawn as a garden. Check in each day and every habit grows into its own plant: streaks open flowers, missed days leave weeds, and you can see at a glance which habit needs water.

What each plant tells you
Every plant is drawn from your own check-ins, so the garden is a picture of the last month rather than a score you have to read.
- Size is the last 30 days Each check-in in the last month makes the plant bigger. Twenty-four of thirty is full grown.
- Flowers are your streak Three days in a row opens a flower, and every three more opens another. One missed day keeps the streak; two in a row end it.
- Weeds are missed pairs Each time you miss two days in a row, a weed comes up beside the plant and stays for 30 days.
- Dry soil is time since The longer it has been since the last check-in, the paler the soil and the more the leaves droop. One check-in waters it again.

Plant your habits
Name up to eight, and pick a flower for each. Small ones work best: ten pages, not a chapter.
-
Water them each day
Tap a plant, or press Done today beside its name. Forgot yesterday? Fill in any of the last 30 days on its grid.
-
Read the garden
The side panel names the habit that is thriving, the one that needs water, and the one with weeds, with a small change to try for each.

Questions
-
Is Habit Garden free?
Yes. The garden, the starting gardens, the PNG image and the text summary are free, and you do not need an account.
-
Where are my check-ins saved?
In this browser, after every change. If you are signed in, they are also saved to your HourLife account, so the garden opens on your other devices, and you can delete it there in Settings. Signed out, nothing is uploaded and the garden stays on this device. Clearing your browser data removes the garden, so save an image or copy the summary if you want a record.

How does a plant grow?
Its size comes from how many of the last 30 days you checked in, and 24 of 30 is full grown. Flowers come from your current streak, one for every three days in a row. A plant never shrinks because of one bad day; it only gets smaller as old check-ins pass out of the 30-day window.
-
What does "never miss twice" mean here?
It is a rule from James Clear's Atomic Habits. Missing one day is an accident; missing two in a row is the start of a new habit. So the streak forgives a single missed day but ends after two in a row, and each pair of missed days leaves a weed that stays for 30 days.
-
Can I fill in a day I forgot?
Yes. Every habit has a grid of the last 30 days. Tap a day to mark it done or clear it, or move along the grid with the arrow keys and press Space.
-
How many habits can I track?
Up to eight. A garden of three or four is easier to keep up, and each plant has more room on the screen.
-
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. The garden sits above your list of habits, and you tap a plant or its Done today button to check in. It does not send reminders, so it works best opened at the same point in your day.
