Daily command module

Today

Start, run, and close the day from one calm command center.

Today is the front door of HourLife. It pulls planning, capture, focus, habits, reflection, and lightweight review into the screen you open first, so the next right action is visible without digging through the rest of the system.

HourLife Today module screen

What it changes

A daily surface that knows when to plan, capture, execute, and close.

Know what matters before the day gets noisy.

Capture loose thoughts without losing your place.

Move between planning, execution, recovery, and review without rebuilding your workflow.

Turn daily activity into signal for goals, habits, mood, energy, gratitude, and tasks.

These are the strongest Today screenshots for a client introduction: the home command surface, the morning planning state, and the evening closeout flow.

Morning plan

Choose the focus of the day, review what is active, and set the tone before execution starts.

HourLife Today Evening close screenshot

Evening close

Close the loop with mood, energy, gratitude, and reflection before the day disappears.

Modes

One module, different moments of the day.

Morning

Use it to decide the day before incoming work takes over.

Review priorities, tasks, habits, schedule pressure, and any reminders that should shape the day.

Capture

Use it when something crosses your mind and you do not want to derail.

Send quick thoughts into Brain from the dashboard, then return to the day.

Sprint

Use it when the day needs a short execution push.

Narrow the interface around immediate work, current tasks, and fast completion.

Deep Work

Use it when attention is the constraint.

Keep the visible surface focused on the work block instead of the full system.

Evening

Use it to close the day deliberately.

Record the signals that matter later: reflection, mood, energy, gratitude, and unfinished loops.

Week, Month, Review

Use it when the question is direction, not just completion.

Step back from today and look at the larger rhythm before changing priorities.

How I use it

A client workflow for an ordinary day.

Today is not a separate planner to maintain. It is the operating surface for moving through the day and sending work to the right module only when more detail is needed.

  1. 1 Open Today first, before checking scattered tools or notes.
  2. 2 Pick the mode that matches the moment: Morning to plan, Capture for loose input, Sprint or Deep Work to execute, Evening to close.
  3. 3 Scan the visible cards and choose the one action that needs attention now.
  4. 4 When a card needs more context, open the connected module from the widget instead of searching manually.
  5. 5 At the end of the day, complete the evening review so tasks, gratitude, mood, energy, and reflection become usable history.

Features

What Today includes.

Mode-based daily dashboard

The screen changes with the context of the day, so morning planning, focus work, rest, capture, weekly review, and evening reflection do not compete for attention.

Quick Brain capture

A stray thought can be captured from Today and handled later, keeping the current workflow intact.

Morning and evening routines

Today helps establish a reliable opening and closing loop around priorities, mood, energy, gratitude, tasks, and habits.

Module widgets

Cards surface the modules that matter now and let you drill in only when deeper follow-up is needed.

Focus and sprint support

Execution modes reduce the visible surface when the client needs momentum rather than more planning.

Review rhythm

Week, month, and review contexts connect daily action to the broader HourLife system.

Connected system

Today routes attention to the rest of HourLife.

The module works because it does not try to hold every detail. It keeps the daily surface calm and hands deeper work to the modules built for that context.
