Three lines a day, and eighteen weeks of them on one page.
A daily gratitude practice: note what you are thankful for, link it to a person, goal, or life area, and keep a streak.
-
Today’s page, numberedThe page opens on “1.” and asks “What are you grateful for today?”. Return saves the line and the next number asks “And another?”, until three lines fill the day.
-
A streak that waits for youA run of days stays alive through today while today is still blank. Write tonight and it carries on. Miss the whole day and it starts again tomorrow.
-
Who keeps turning upLink a line to a person, a goal or a life area. The people you link most sit under “WHO SHOWS UP”, a tap from their page.
Your first three lines
-
Write on today's page
Open Gratitude and type into the line marked "1.", under "Today". Press Return and it is saved, and the pen moves to "2.". Gratitude is free.
-
Fill the three numbers
Three lines make a full day, and today's square in the grid above darkens with each one. Write a fourth if you have it; the page asks "Anything else?".
-
Link the ones about someone
For a line about a person, a goal or a life area, tap "+" instead. "New Gratitude" has "Person", "Goal" and "Life Area" under "LINK TO (OPTIONAL)", and an "Attributed date" for a day you missed.
Every step, in detail
- 1 Open Gratitude and type into the line marked "1." under "Today", then press Return.
- 2 Keep going. The pen moves to "2." and "3.", and three lines fill the day's square in the grid.
- 3 For a line about someone or something, tap "+" and pick "Person", "Goal", or "Life Area" under "LINK TO (OPTIONAL)".
- 4 Come back tomorrow. "Day streak" at the top counts the days in a row with at least one line.
Three lines a day
The Gratitude page opens on your practice: the streak, the longest run and the days kept, over eighteen weeks of squares. Under it is today’s page, numbered to three. Each line you write darkens today’s square, and three fill it.

+What are you grateful for today?
The streak already reads 9 with today blank: a run through yesterday holds until midnight. Your first line today makes it 10.
When a streak breaks
“Day streak” counts the days in a row with at least one line. Today gets until midnight: while it is blank, the run through yesterday still counts. A whole day with no line ends the run, and a line filed under that day afterwards mends it.
Sample · the two weeks to Tuesday, Oct 20, and the morning after · tap a day to add or clear its lines
Tuesday is still blank, but the run through Monday holds until midnight, so the streak reads 9. Write a line tonight and it becomes 10.
Try Wednesday morning with Tuesday still blank, then tap Tuesday. In the app that is “+”, the line, and “Attributed date” set to yesterday. Longest counts every run since your first line, so the twelve days in August stay the best until a run passes them.
One line, and what it can carry
A line is enough. Each line can also carry a day other than today, a life area, a goal, a person, and any number of reflections added later.

3REFLECTIONS · 1 +
Small quiet starts make the whole day less reactive.
4LINKED
- The day it belongs to is the title, from “Attributed date”. Today’s page always writes to today; “+” can file a line under any day.
- A life area, one of Health, Wealth, Craft, Family, Mind, Relationships, Learning and Other, and the time you wrote it.
- Reflections, added any time from “+”, typed or dictated. Each keeps its own date and time, newest first, and can be edited or deleted.
- A goal and a person, one of each. Only active goals are offered. A linked person counts toward “WHO SHOWS UP”.
Two ways to write a line
| What | Today’s page | “+”, New Gratitude |
|---|---|---|
| The day | Today only | Any day, from “Attributed date” |
| Links | None yet. Open the line later and choose “Edit”. | Goal, Person and Life Area, under “LINK TO (OPTIONAL)” |
| After saving | The keyboard stays up and the next number asks for another | The sheet closes |
| Best for | Three quick lines at the end of the day | The day you missed, or a line about someone |
Archive or delete
- Archive
From the entry’s ⋯ menu. It leaves the page, the grid, the streak and Insights, and waits under “Archived” in the module’s ⋯ menu until you choose “Unarchive”.
- Delete
From the ⋯ menu, or a long press on the row. The line goes to Recently Deleted.
Find a line again
Under today’s page, earlier days follow, newest first. Five chips narrow them to lines with a person, a goal, a life area or reflections, and search finds any word. Either one folds the practice card away so the matches come straight after the pen.

“WHO SHOWS UP” counts every line you have linked to a person, not just these three days, and shows the five you link most by first name. A tap opens the person.
Insights counts days and people
“Insights” in the ⋯ menu reads your gratitude as days: how many you have kept, the last thirty as bars, your streaks, and who you link most. Archived lines are left out.
Sample · the eighteen weeks above, seen on Tuesday, Oct 20, before tonight’s lines
You’ve logged gratitude on 74 days.

Tips
- Link an entry to the person it is about. Over time "WHO SHOWS UP" tells you who you are most grateful for.
- If you write gratitude the next morning, tap "+" and set the "Attributed date" to yesterday. Today's page always writes to today.
- Gratitude is free, so it is a good first daily habit before you add anything else.
Questions
About Gratitude day to day.
-
Is Gratitude free?
Yes. Gratitude is part of the free tier, with no limit on how many lines you keep.
-
How many things should I write each day?
Today's page offers three numbered lines, and the grid counts a day as full at three. One line already keeps the streak, and you can write as many more as you like.
-
Does my streak break if I haven't written yet today?
No. A streak that ran through yesterday holds until today ends, so the number stays while you have the evening to write. Miss a whole day and it starts again at your next line.
-
I forgot to write yesterday. Can I add it now?
Yes. Tap "+", write the line, and set "Attributed date" to yesterday. It files under that day and fills its square, so a streak that broke overnight joins up again.
-
Can I add to a line later?
Open it and tap "+" beside "REFLECTIONS". Each reflection keeps its own date and time, newest first, and you can dictate one instead of typing.
-
What is the difference between Archive and Delete?
Archive, in a line's ⋯ menu, takes it off the page and out of the streak and Insights, and keeps it under "Archived", where "Unarchive" brings it back. Delete moves it to Recently Deleted.
